International Pledge

Climate change is causing immense human suffering and damage to the natural world. It threatens the collapse of civilization within this century. Confronting this crisis is the great moral imperative of our time.

I CALL ON MY NATION'S GOVERNMENT TO:

  1. Immediately commence a social and economic mobilization to restore a climate that is safe, stable, and supportive of human civilization. This heroic campaign shall be carried out on a vast scale, transforming our economy at wartime speed.

  2. Reduce our country’s net greenhouse gas emissions 100 percent by 2030 at the latest and implement far-reaching measures to remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

  3. Enlist a multitude of citizens in efforts to rapidly expand our carbon-neutral energy and agricultural systems, conduct groundbreaking research, and implement large-scale adaptation measures. Full employment will be achieved.

  4. Conduct this mobilization in accordance with the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights and ensure that the essential needs of the civilian economy are met during this time of transition.

  5. Establish the following imperatives as our nation’s top foreign policy priorities: A 100 percent reduction of global net greenhouse gas emissions at emergency speed, and the deployment of comprehensive measures that remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere until a safe climate is restored.

I will enlist fellow citizens from all walks of life in this campaign. If sitting politicians fail to mobilize, we will elect leaders with the courage and foresight to enact these demands.

I WILL:

  1. Vote for candidates — on every electoral level — who have signed the Pledge to Mobilize over those who have not.

  2. Advocate publicly for an emergency climate mobilization in the halls of government and in the media.

  3. Mobilize my skills, resources, and networks to spread the truth of climate change and the hope of this movement to others. When I spread the Pledge to Mobilize, I will do so with respect, truth, focus and courage.

Thus I pledge to mobilize, in defense of civilization and the natural world.

This is one of the most important initiatives of our time. Only by mobilizing can we can tackle climate change and save human civilization from the impending disaster. Surely everyone wants to leave their children, grandchildren and all human beings and species a world worth living in. Keep up your amazing work and know that there are millions of people in Europe who are not giving up just because of the disastrous US election result. We will never stop fighting for the future of humanity and our precious earth.

My name is Alexander John Fisher. My current history and general life is unique and varied and something of a Canuckian Forrest Gump. Without going into too much detail about the details at this time, I’m a BC boy, born in Trail (The Silver City) in ’62, grew up in Rossland (The Golden City), wherefrom I dumped a curriculum that I didn’t believe in after grade 11, and have been essentially bumbling and stumbling ever since. Fast forward to Vancouver 1990, the year I became divest. I initiated the RIDE car/vanpooling and Go Green campaigns early that year until I felt they had been left in good hands and I could go out and make some bread money. I also consulted with a club owner on Granville (a club most of you would know of) and now neither he nor his associates have responded to my correspondences over the past few years. I was told by a business development CEO that I could litigate, but unfortunately I am busy meeting an urban minimum status quo. I began whispering things like ‘gold’ to VSE investors and ‘salad’ to MacDonalds managers around Vancouver. And then I went to the Peace Camp in front of the art gallery where I was placed into a position of responsible authority. It was my initial experience with what we now know of as the First Nations peoples and cultures. I phoned the UBC Faculty of Law and asked them to research the question, “Who’s Land is it Anyways?”. I couldn’t possibly tell you the young man’s name, but after the walk from downtown to the faculty building, his response to me was that the land (Vancouver, British Columbia and Canada) is all unceded. This gave First Nations the legal foothold they needed to level the field in the face of colonial rule. I’ve been an outsider looking in for a long time and would like to find investors (divestors) for my biggest and best ideas as they are continually emerging. Anyways, my motivation is the environment and finding way and means of turning the machine around and fixing everything it has done to damage us. I want to go on a tour of Western Canada to promote wholistic new ways of existing and reupping my effort to shift the machine. I am looking for investors/divestors? We need a lot of help in a lot of areas. After all, we’ve got to keep up with Trudeau, Trump and the elite. At this point I’ll leave it to you to respond other than to tell you that I’m broker than a joker because more than anything, I’m a principalled individual and because of it marginalized beyond being able to afford my rent anymore or even a set of snow tires. I need some benefaction before being impoverished puts an end to me.

    Thank you for your support,
