San Diegans, come through for the second Climate Mobilization rally this year! The "Midnight Ride of Paul Revere” will be re-enacted in San Diego at midnight on Saturday, June 13th, when former Congressman Jim Bates as “Paul Revere” will mount his trusty steed! RSVP here and on Facebook for this one-of-a-kind event:
Bates will start at the Episcopal Church at 625 Pennsylvania Avenue (the original Paul Revere departed from a Boston Episcopal Church), after receiving from the church tower a two-lantern signal meaning “if by sea” due to potential ocean rise in San Diego, and gallop south on Sixth Avenue to Laurel Avenue and into Balboa Park to the Kate Sessions statue.
He will join a large group of Climate Action Patriots to warn them that Catastrophic Climate Change is coming! He will warn that what is needed to meet the threat is for the U.S. Government to implement a World War II-scale Mobilization to convert at Wartime Speed the U.S. from fossil fuels to Safe, Clean, Renewable Solar, Wind and Water Energy.
After the Congressman addresses the crowd, other speakers will be heard and live music will play.
One of the goals of the event will be to urge all participants to go to visit The Climate Mobilization's website and sign up to take the Pledge to Mobilize. This pledge calls upon the U.S. Government to implement a World War II-scale National Mobilization to transition the U.S. from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
