Say Goodbye to Gradualism at the People's Climate March!

On Saturday, April 29, people from all over America are converging in Washington for jobs, justice, and a safe climate at the People's Climate March.

We'll be marching with allies as the CLIMATE TRANSFORMATION DECADE bloc, representing our demand to say #GoodbyeGradualism! and organize for the rapid, WWII-scale national emergency mobilization we need to reach 100% clean energy and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions within the next decade, guarantee a healthy environment and full employment, and begin restoring a safe climate for all of us!

We want you to join us, and please invite others! You can spread the word on social media, and RSVP on Facebook.

Tentative schedule:

10:00 am: We and allies will gather as a group for breakfast and coffee, at the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial, in front of the US Capitol grounds by the Capitol Reflecting Pool. We'll have a large banner, plenty of posters and flyers to hand out, and will be wearing blue Climate Mobilization t-shirts and red "Rosie the Riveter" bandannas!

Closest Metro stations: Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002 - Red Line); Archives-Navy Memorial - Penn Quarter Station (Green/Yellow Lines).

11:00 am: We'll hold a short, rousing rally to say #GoodbyeGradualism, with speakers including The Climate Mobilization's directors, Margaret Klein Salamon and Ezra Silk.

From there we will walk over to join our sisters and brothers in the Peoples Climate March: Fossil Fuel Resistance Bloc, lining up at 3rd St. & Jefferson Dr. SW, just southwest of the U.S. Capitol.

12:30 pm: Begin marching up Pennsylvania Avenue towards the White House.

2:00 pm: March will surround the White House on all sides and take a powerful collective action.

3:00 pm: March will reconvene at the Washington Monument to hear from the frontline communities of the climate crisis about solutions.

*In case cellular data reception is unreliable at this highly attended event, we recommend that smartphone users in our bloc download FireChat, a free group messaging app that will allow us to communicate over short distances in case any of us are separated and want to find our main group.
