Reenacting the Home Front

The home front mobilization that took place during the second world war is one of the most imminent cases of American solidarity. In addition to those who served off-shore during that time, millions of Americans took up a common cause to sustain the nation back home. On Sunday, July 10th Show-Me Mobilization will commemorate the home front mobilization at the Carnahan Memorial Garden located in downtown Jefferson City. The ceremony will include speakers calling for a WWII-scale climate mobilization, during which mobilizers will erect a model wind turbine, maintaining it at half-raise to signify both the past achievements that have led us in the direction toward a stable climate and the work ahead. Following the speaker address, the turbine will be leveled to serve as a beacon of hope for the mission toward a safe and sustainable climate. Discussion and socializing to follow, refreshments will be provided.
