What is a Climate Mobilization?
Why do we need it?
What would it include?
Since we introduced the Pledge to Mobilize, we have received many of these questions about what, exactly, we're advocating, and whether or how it is compatible with other proposed climate solutions.
We've been compiling responses in our FAQs, but in the attached paper, we're releasing our fullest answers yet about the case for economic mobilization against climate change.
The Case for Mobilization is a 50-page document that clearly lays out the reasons why we are already in a climate emergency, why national economic mobilization is the only way to fight climate change that can actually secure our civilization and democracy, and what such a mobilization would look like. It is the most comprehensive articulation yet of our vision.
This was written by Ezra Silk, deputy director of The Climate Mobilization, with Margaret Klein Salamon, PhD, director of The Climate Mobilization, with invaluable input from Michael Hoexter and Philip Sutton.
We hope that Mobilizers will find it useful in sharpening their arguments and recruiting efforts, and that interested or skeptical people will read it to understand what TCM is all about.
Constructive comments and feedback on its contents are very welcome!
